Gedanken zum Objekt:
Das linke Auge ist das Auge des Horus. Es wird auch als Udjat-Auge (=intakt, vollständig, gesund) bezeichnet.
Das rechte Auge ist das Auge des Re. Es wird mit der Sonne in Verbindung gebracht.
In der ägyptischen Mythologie gibt es oft widersprüchliche Aussagen bezüglich der Bedeutung des Auges von Horus und Re (Ra).
Das Auge des Horus (linkes Auge, von Horus gesehen) wird aber hauptsächlich mit dem Mond verbunden, das Auge des Re (rechtes Auge aus Sicht des Sonnengottes) mit der Sonne.
Seth riss Horus das linke Auge aus, als sich die beiden Rivalen im Kampf um den Thron des Osiris befanden. Thot, der Mondgott, hat es wieder geheilt und Horus brachte das wiedergewonnene Auge zu Osiris und verlieh ihm neues Leben.
Das Auge des Horus wurde das Symbol für Vervollständigung und Heilung. Es wird aber auch mit Schutz, Erneuerung, Vollkommenheit und Macht in Verbindung gebracht und soll gegen den "bösen Blick" und Unfälle schützen. Das Auge des Re (auch Auge des Aton, östliches Auge) symbolisiert im alten Ägypten die Sonnenscheibe der Sonnengötter. In dieser Skulptur stehen also Sonne und Mond in enger Verbindung und symbolisieren das Göttliche. Auch in der Bibel erscheint das Auge als Symbol der Wachsamkeit, Allwissenheit und Allgegennwart Gottes.

The left eye is the eye of Horus. It´s also called Eye of Udiat ( = intact, complete, healthy).
The right eye is the eye of Re (Ra) . It is associated with the sun.
In Egyptian mythology, there are some contradictions/often different statements regarding the meaning of the eye of Horus and Re ( Ra) .
The Eye of Horus (left eye, seen from Horus ) is mainly associated with the moon.
The Eye of Re (right eye, seen from the view of the sun god ) symbolizes/is linked to the sun.
Seth tore out Horus 's left eye when the two rivals fought for the throne of Osiris.
Thoth, the moon God, healed it, and Horus brought the regained eye to Osiris , and gave new life to him.
The Eye of Horus became the symbol for completion and healing. However, it is also associated with protection , revival/renewal, perfection and power. It is said to protect against the "evil eye " and accidents. In ancient Egypt the Eye of Re ( also eye of Aton , eastern eye) symbolized the sun disk of the sun gods.
So in this sculpture the sun and the moon are in close contact and symbolize the divine. Also in the Bible the eye appears as a symbol of vigilance , omniscience and omnipresence of God.
